Oska is a five year old Golden Retriever male who came to GRR via a Free To Good Home post on Facebook. GRR has heard many stories from families giving up their dog and Oska’s story is no different from the hundreds of stories already heard. However, in this case as in many other cases the truth took a back seat when the handing over of the dog took place. Whether Oska’s condition was never picked up because no one bothered to look at him or his family noticed and did not want to seek treatment GRR will never know and it really doesn’t matter because Oska is now with GRR and is looking for a special home.
When Oska arrived his carer contacted GRR Headquarters as she was not happy about his gait and x-rays were taken by GRR’s vet at Albury and sent to GRR’s surgeon extraordinaire, Dr David Lidbetter at North Parramatta who has confirmed that Oska does not need hip surgery now or in the future. Oska has completed a course of cartrophen and is on Glyde every day to ensure that his joints are moving well.
GRR is looking for a special home for Oska as this boy can be very anxious He needs a home where someone is around the home much of the time and has the patience to give this boy the time and space to settle into his new surroundings.
Oska is great with other dogs and loves to carry a soft toy in his mouth wherever he goes. He loves to go for short walks and the most important thing in his life is being with his family. This boy does not like storms but his anxiousness during thunder is being controlled with a DAP diffuser. Oska walks well on lead, travels nicely in the car and is described by his foster family as a sweet boy to have around the house.
Oska comes microchipped, desexed, vaccinated, heartworm tested and treated for heartworm, intestinal worms and fleas. If your family would like to open its heart and home to this sweet boy please go to the Contact page and select the questionnaire. We look forward to hearing from you.
